Celebrate your fitness achievements
Ever hit your step goal and let loose a fist pump?
We’re big believers in giving credit where it’s due, so we’ve cooked up a way to help celebrate your milestones with you. Cue the trumpets, Fitbit now has badges! You’ll now receive badges for hitting daily milestones. Get your first badge for hitting 5,000 steps.
Let’s not forget the name of the game is total cumulative steps––it’s all about how much you’ve done over time. You’ll also earn badges for racking up major mileage with your trusty tracker.
Badges will appear on your Fitbit.com dashboard once you’ve hit certain targets. You can share them with friends on Fitbit.com as well as by posting them through your Facebook or Four Square account.
Badges are pretty cool. One of the biggest achievement we have is when you have achieved 3,000 miles which is nothing short of amazing. It’s approximately the distance of San Francisco to New York! If you’ve received the 3,000 miles badge, please let us know on Facebook or Twitter or email us at welovefitbit@fitbit.com. We’d love to hear how you did it and salute you — virtual fist bump!

Hit 1000 miles!
Love it~ Next step, GAMIFY!
I’m already using your site daily and I noticed the badges a couple of days ago, now I just need a list of all the badges I have earned and a list of badges you can get so I have something to shoot for!
Thanks.
I’m pretty happy with my 250 miles. But you should consider adding a million steps! That was my summer goal — beginning May 29th. I met that goal on August 3!
Nice! I love the idea of achievements in “normal” application and not just games. Stackexchange does this achievement thing at its best.
Are there some unexpected badges soon! Like “heavy coffee drinker”?
This is great! What a fun way to reach for and track big achievements. Thanks for the update and I look forward to seeing some badges on my profile soon
Love this! I want to share my 500 mile badge on fb but having trouble. What am I missing?
Thanks in advance
Love my fitbit. I’ve been much more active since I received it because it provides a visual throughout the day of how far I’ve walked. Mine broke and I’m so lost without it. Hopefully, my new one will be here shortly. I like the badges concept and can’t wait to find out how to post it to facebook.
I am looking forward to earning my badges.
Hurray! I LOVE the new badges! Thanks. I’m excited to see what other milestones you cook up too.
Thank you for the Badges – I need all the help I can get. Will keep you posted. Sister Geraldine Romano
LOVE THIS IDEA! It is a motivator for me. Thank you!
Thank you for the addition! I love getting awards like these!
Good idea as sme of us do improvement for ourselves, not to boast with others.
Gosh! Sure feel like shouting my goal. But a badge is a little more normal. I DID IT! At age 61 !
You may want to consider having the badges in metric also, some of us in other countries automatically think in metric.
great idea i personal train clients & they love rewards no matter how big or some
Introduction of Badges is great.
Its been a missing element in the fitbit experience
I am sure it will spur people on.
Looking forward to the fisrt badge!
Thanks for the jump start! I’ve been off track, & will get started again.
Great I’m ready to continue working towards my first badge. Great idea…let’s get started!
Awesome idea !!!
Can we get a running lifetime count of the total distance in miles so we can track how much progress we have made and how much longer to 3000 miles?
I love this!!! This will make the fitbit just THAT much more fun!!! Thanks! *smile*
I can only see the badges I have already earned but I think it would be a great motivator if I knew what the next badges were…how far I have to go until the next badge….that way I would have a specific goal in mind and I could push for it.
We walked 500 miles from May 29 – August 14th. YES!!!
Love these…it would be cool if we could see our progress towards achieving a higher total step count/mileage bage too! All about motivation, right?
LOVE the added feature of badges!!! Working my way to 3,000!!!!!
Love it! Great feature!
I like the badges! Finally I get a medal for all my efforts.
But, I have several times achieved 20000. 25000, 30000, but this not show in the badges.
I would suggest a schematic overview alongside the badges, so that it is easy to check if all the data are correct, and see which days to beat.
Frank, now a proud owner of the 500 miles badge.
I love the badges. I have a tendency to fall behind in my exercises. This gives me the incentive to keep it up. I don’t have any friends with fitbit yet. I have the goal of walking at least 4 miles per day. I need all the encouragement I can get.
I just want to let Fitbit.com how happy I am with my Fitbit. I have it for only 4 months but it has help me so much in reaching my weight goal, eatting habit and exercise program.
Eventhough, I was without myFitbit for a couple of weeks due to a device in the Fitbit. The customer service department at Fitbit were amazing. Quick response with my email and issue. Quick solution to my problem. I was up and running quickier than I expected.
I wanted to thank Leanna and the support team that help me out with the problem and got me back on track.
I hope everyone out is as happy as I am with their FITBIT.
Thank you so much a very satisfied customer,

YEAH!!! I Love your badges… I find it very motivating when I get credit for my accomplishments!
Kudos to you… If I could send you a badge for a great idea I would.

I never really looked at the badges on my laptop, I have to scroll to see them, and was amazed to see that I had a 1,000 mile badge. Great motivator now that I have seen it and really impressive to my 8 year old granddaughter.
I tell everyone that asks about my weight loss from 250 down to 175 that it is all due to fitbit tracking. When I quit tracking then I start gaining weight.
Thanks for a great product and support services.
Thank you! This is a great idea to help motivation and mark milestones along the way. I feel as though I should be working for your company – I’m selling the bene’s of the Fitbit to my friends and co-workers all the time! Keep up the good work.
Having that accountability partner is key! Encouraging each other, promoting healthy choices, or holding you accountable when you’re slipping! It’s a must! I started at 174, I’m down to 136.7, 58 yrs old, and for the first time in my life, walk everyday for a minimum of 1/2 hr. Love seeing how well I’ve done in steps, and the premium service is worth every penny!
Love the reward system! Thanks for making the fitibit so awesome!
Husband makes me walk to get fit
Hello, I love the badges. They are a great reward and motivator. I did 21,000 steps on August 27 but did not receive a 20,000 badge. I’m still happy for the accomplishment but wish I had a badge also
Thanks.
I love the badges and I can’t wait to get more!!!
Would love to see a list of the badges you can earn. Might help give us another layer of ‘goals’ to work towards. Great idea – love it!
I’m elated, but a bit sore, today after completing my fourth Half Marathon at the Adirondack Distance Festival on September 25th. I entered as a walker and added some jogging intervals for the last three miles of the 13.1 mile distance. My time was 3:09 which was fine by me. I pushed hard and, thankfully, did not experience my usual shin splint or runner’s knee. It was a beautiful day and the course was fantastic. The volunteers helping out at all the stations along the way were incredible! I highly recommend this event to anyone.
The Fitbit is a powerful motivator. I find that I willingly park a farther distance in the lot when I am shopping. When I have a day that I do not plan to take a long walk, I tend to think of ways to add a few more steps throughout the day. I check the calories in compared to calories burned several times a day. That makes me more aware of what I am eating and how much and how often. All of it together is making a difference. The daily and weekly and long time records are excellent.
I love it..
I love the badges idea. I used to give myself gold stars on my calendar when I exercised, but now I get badges.

Great Idea! Everyone needs a at a girl sometimes.
This is awesome, please continue to make these, it definitely pumps you up to complete tasks and milestones. Go the XBOX way and make a bunch of random goals, focus on both a daily task, weekly task and a lifetime task (badges). Keeps me and other motivated. Awesome FitBit
I would like to try to achieve badges, so I will try for 5,00 steps each day.
Could you post something that tells about the badges, like how far along you might be towards getting to one of the goals?
Thanks
I hit 3,000 miles by running a lot.
I love the badges. I think they give a new perspective to setting goals and an effective way to keep them in the forefront your mind. When you think to make an excuse to “skip” the exercise a small picture of the badge pops up in my head and I think….. okay 9 more flights till I earn my badge and off I go. seems to silly but it works. : )
I joined Walkfit with my employer Asurion. At first I was doing it just to be a team player, but as I was able to keep track of my daily movements; I now have a new bff!!! I love it!!
I LOVE the badges. Today, I was motivated to hit my 100 flights climbed! I just made it. Feels great. So helpful in motivating you to go just a little farther! Thanks.
How do you earn badges? I’ve had my Fitbit since Dec 2010 and simply love it! I’ve gotten (3) people at work to purchase the product and they, in turn, have friends who have also purchased the unit. The unit has helped me so much that I’m now running a 10K eveery day. Look up my weekly reports. My daughter now has a Fitbit and she, too, is on her way to getting fit. Thanks for a wonderful product! Keep up the good work!
I love my fit bit!!!!!!!!!
I am new to Fitbit. Does Fitbit post any cummlative stats about its users? I think it would be interesting to know how many folks reach 5,000 steps a day, 10,000 etc. How many 50 miles in a day badges have been issued. That sort of thing.
Love my Fitbit!! Best Mother’s Day gift!!
