“My Goal is Simple: Be a Healthy Mum & Role Model for My Kids,” says Angela M.

Fitbit Success Story: Angela M

When we hear about Fitbit users who’ve reached their goals, we love to share the news! Angela M., a mother of two and a Fitbit Charge user, surpassed his goals—beyond what she even thought possible! Here, Angela talks to Fitbit about her journey.

Fitbit: How long have you been using your Fitbit tracker?

Angela: 8 months

Fitbit: Why did you choose your Fitbit tracker?

Angela: I chose Fitbit for its comfort, ease of use, design, and tracking features – all of which I love. My physical activity appears on my wrist using one button which makes it super easy to use. Having all my stats linked, recorded, and easily accessible on my iPad and iPhone is fantastic and allows me to easily check-in on my progress in-between my daily tasks as a working mum.

Fitbit: How did Fitbit help you work towards those goals and overcome challenges?

Angela: Tracking my physical activity through Fitbit inspires me to keep moving. With so much on I can overcome time challenges by regularly monitoring my daily steps and pushing myself to make sure I reach my target if I feel I’m falling short. It helps me hit my target of 5 – 7k steps walking each day with my kids in the pram and an additional jog with our dog. When the kids are asleep I also make time to go to the gym a few days each week.

Fitbit: How have these changes impacted your life as a mother?

Angela: Having a daily goal gives me energy and drive when spending time with my family – exercise and health are a top priority for me as a mum. Keeping fit and setting personal targets makes me happy, which in turn makes a positive impact on the time I spend with my children.

Fitbit: What’s your advice for busy mothers who want to make a change?

Angela: It’s all about planning and organisation—if you’re organised and determined to achieve your goals you will. I look at the day ahead and try to incorporate some time for activity – no matter how busy I am with work and family. It’s important to exercise and work towards your targets when the opportunity arises – it can be as simple as taking your children for a walk to the shops or the park instead of driving, or playing a game with the kids in the backyard instead of leaving them to watch TV.

Fitbit: What are your new goals for the future?

Angela: My goal for the future is simple; continue to be a fit and healthy mum and a positive role model to my two young children.
