A social entrepreneur, passionate philanthropist, and life enthusiast, Mike Sherbakov strives to be an embodiment of health and wellness. Learning the importance of integrity, honor and hard work during his time on active duty in the United States Marine Corps, Mike holds degrees in kinesiology and psychology, as well as advanced certifications in fitness, nutrition, mindfulness, and yoga.
Mike is the founder of The Optimal Wellness Academy and has worked with thousands of clients in a variety of settings. Whether improving the performance of professional athletes or educating corporate clients like Qualcomm, TaylorMade and Lululemon athletica, Mike has established himself as an expert in the wellness space empowering others to live their best lives.
He is a leader in the community, the founder of several consciously driven businesses, and passionately pursues philanthropic efforts in different areas around the world. Mike is super excited to up his step count with the SD Community as a Fitbit Local Ambassador!
Sheri Matthews is a San Diego-based corporate wellness consultant, fitness professional, and community spokesperson. With a bachelor of science degree from the University of San Diego, her career and her passion for running and fitness is geared to changing company culture for healthy employees. In addition, she’s a lifestyle accountability/goal coach and public speaker. Fitness gives her the platform to reach people who want to live healthy, happy, active lives.
Sheri’s presence in the greater fitness and health community includes being an alumni brand ambassador to lululemon international, a 3-time pace leader for half marathons domestically and in Canada at the 1:35 and 1:40 groups, a Top 10 women’s finisher in 2013 in the 30-35 age division, a two time Boston Marathon qualifier and finisher, and a certified distance run coach.
Sheri is the co-creator of Gals Who Run, a community providing marathon training guides and schedules for women runners. She is a popular spin instructor and created one of the most sought after free run clubs in Southern California, volunteering often with Challenged Athletes Foundation, and creating fitness programs for the San Diego Boys and Girls Clubs. She has been featured in Women’s Running and Competitor magazines, Dick’s Sporting Good, and San Diego’s Best of 2015 in fitness. She has created an active, healthy lifestyle personally, that is evident as she drives wellness programs in and out of corporate settings to enhance her community.
