The Fitbit Movement: Join Today!

Here at Fitbit, we’re constantly inspired by the passion, enthusiasm, stories and advice from our users. Whether you’re emailing us progress updates, telling your friends about us on Facebook, or putting together your own step competitions with friends, our users are always impressing us with both their commitment to getting or staying healthy, and their desire to help their friends and family do the same.  It’s wonderful to have this common shared belief with you — that small everyday changes can be fun and will add up to big results.   And we believe, together, we can bring this belief to more people — and change how many people view fitness today.

For nearly a year, we’ve been experimenting with different tactics to help support and reward the efforts of those who are living examples of our mission to help make the world a healthier place, one step at a time. We’ve created the Fitbit Tell-a-Friend program, created a wide affiliate network, shared insider information, gathered customer stories, promoted your stories to others. Now we would love to open our ambassador program to all of you. As a Fitbit ambassador, you’ll be invited into a new community of Fitbit users whose goal is to share, inspire, and motivate people to be more fit — in a smart, fun, realistic and (Fitbit) way. Additionally, as an ambassador you’ll get insider access to Fitbit news, get to share your Fitbit story, and earn special rewards from us at Fitbit.

We’re still fine-tuning and growing this beta program, but by joining now you can help develop our community and determine its future! If you’re interested, you can apply by filling out this survey. We’ll be in touch with more information about joining to those who do! And we look forward to hearing more of your stories on Facebook and Twitter. Happy stepping!

  • What an exciting opportunity! I swear by my fitbit and the motivation it gives me, always telling everyone that asks “how are you doing it?” that I account much of my success to your product. Thank you so much!

  • I am a personal trainer and fitness instructor at my local Y, and just last night I shared with my class about fitbit and the wonderful customer service you have! I’ve used fitbit for 2 years and have had nothing but positive things to share with others. :) I am already an ambassador, just not an official one!

  • Thank you fit bit. I love the Fit iit and how it keeps me on track. Its awesome. I am so happy..
    Thank you so much……

  • I first read about Fitbit in December of 2011, while waiting as my daughter was undergoing surgery. I thought is was a great idea and immediately went online and ordered mine. It is literally a part of my body. I have it on my person all my waking hours. It motivates me every single day to try and do more. I am 63 years old and fairly active. Since I retired I walk, or run at least 5 to 6 miles a day. This does not include my normal daily steps. I tell my friends that once you get a Fitbit it will change your life. Something so small, does such big things. I bought my wife a Fitbit Zip for Christmas and she is on board as well.

  • I have gotten a few of my family members turned on to fitbit, as well as friends. What a blast it is to get the steps in, make the exercise “fun” competitive, and an incredible motivator.

When I was trying to trim off a few pounds – was great to use site for other activities to track where I was not only making progress, but also following calories burned, calories consumed, etc. Fit Bit makes it fun!

PS – I’m also an Aria scale user!

  • I love my Fitbit. I have had just over a year and have used it everyday since. I even got my kids to get one. I even have the scale and faithfully get on it everyday to log my weight.

  • Since the moment I got my fitbit – I have walked more every day. Have challenged myself to go further every day. Climbed more stairs and hills to get more badges. I am thrilled to be a fitbit ambassador!

  • I’m super excited to begin the ambassador program… I feel like I’ve been one before I even had my Fitbit “The One”. I can’t wait to see what this brings… loving life with my fitbit!

  • I love FitBit, discovered it through a group of girls dedicated to Fitness. I won mine through an EveryMove.org contest and I love it. Hope to help others on their journey to fitness while I am on mine!

  • This is going to be so awesome! Let’s just say I feel naked without my Fitbit One! There isn’t a day that go without me mentioning Fitbit to someone!

  • Excellent! I tell everyone about Fitbit and am so excited when my friends start using them. Sometimes joking that it is addictive, the truth is that it is a fun and simple way that inspires a dedication to health and fitness. It is fun to network through Fitbit as well and talk to each other about your steps, how you got them, etc. I have lost 9 pounds already and feel the best I have ever, since I began using Fitbit on January 17, 2013. Thank you!

  • Wow thank you so much for just inventing the Fitbit in the 1st place, without it I would just do a workout & then stop for the rest of the day. Since getting my One 5 months ago I’ve been on the move constantly. I loved it so much I got one for my son & one for my husband. I’m so thrilled to be one of the chosen ones for Fitbit. I can’t wait. I already rave about it, so telling everyone how much motivation it can give you & what it’s done for me is not going to be hard, it’s a brilliant product & company.

  • I absolutely love my Fitbit! It keeps me on track and makes me feel accountable to myself. I lost my first one late last year and completely felt lost without it. My husband bought me a new FitBit one for Christmas and I am excited now to be an ambassador!!! Can’t wait to continue to spread the word about just how wonderful this product is!

  • Very exciting news about the Fitbit Ambassador Program! I was fortunate enough to get the Fitbit as a Christmas gift in 2012. Starting using it officially on January 10th, 2013. Now, four others in the office are also crazy about the Fitbit program, exercise, and simply moving more. It was great we are all able to motivate each other, go on walking breaks, and nicely compete while maintaining our co-working relationships.

This is a way exciting opportunity to share healthy habits with the community! There are about five others I know that are only waiting for the Fitbit Flex to be sold, hopefully in May, 2013, and then they’ll be joining a healthier lifestyle and the Fitbit groups…

  • I’ve had my fitbit since Fall 2010 – LUV it! Don’t go anywhere without it. Have gotten my walking friends hooked on fitbit too now, and they have gotten so competitive. It’s great, really is getting everyone aware of their actual activity which is now having a good influence on their health!,,,,

  • Looking forward to being an ambassador. I started out with the Ultra and although it was great and it got me hooked, I had to have the One for Bluetooth connectivity. I sync my One with my LoseIt app on my iPhone and together we have lost a total of 140 lbs. I added the fitbit about half way through my weight loss journey and think back to how much more fun it would have been from the start. I tell people all the time about my fitbit and how it challenges and inspires you to do more and be more active. It goes with me everywhere I go. Thanks fitbit, well gotta get steppin.

  • I’ve had my Fitbit One for two weeks, and I love it. I’ve surpassed my initial goals so I keep increasing them a little bit every couple of days. Fitbit is showing me every step of the way what I can do and then some. The real time feedback Fitbit provides let’s me see my results as I move. The scales are showing the results too. The new app upgrade released today is a great enhancement. I’m so pleased with my Fitbit One, and all my friends are hearing about it!

  • Yesterday I wore it for my first day. What motivation! I do more so I can log it! I was more careful about what I ate because I knew how many calories I had left, for the day. This is going to be a great tool for me!!!

  • I love my fitbit and wear it every day for the past three years. I can not start my day unless I put it on. I keep it by my bedside at night and clip it on in the morning. I have motivated many friends to use a fitbit for a healthy sustainable lifestyle. 10,000 steps is my minimum. It is the best tech tool. Thank you!

  • Love it when I met my goal for the day. The little buzz gives me encouragement.
Telling all my friends about fit bit.
My daugjter got one and has already lost 20 lbs.
    Yeah to fitbit! Awesome.

  • oh-I wanted to add about FitBit Flex is great for for tracking sleep… They say sleeping 7 hours is needed to add in weight loss. Well , I haave horrible sleeping habits so it definitely helps me by tracking my sleep patterns and time.. It gets me to bed a bit earlier and that’s good for everything!!

  • I had the idea last Christmas to stay connected with my sister. I bought a fitbit for her and she bought on for me. With our busy schedules we have our fitbit s on all the time. I find out more and more about it every day . Now actually logging calories , yes took me this long. Now getting messages from other people with fitbit s . My fitbit has also encouraged my staff to walk with me , although they don’t have fitbits, quite expensive for them. But because the are helping me and themselves , I am saving my money to get them for them so we can stay connected all the time. There is not a day that goes by when my staff is asking what the fitbit says… And more important I keep in touch with my sister daily. A friendly competition!!!

    • I love my Fitbit! I bought it because I so believe in exercising. I have had Type one diabetes for the past 50 years. I choose my job well as I became an RN CDE so I could teach other about diabetes. (CDE is a certified diabetes educator) As an result I am well versed on the importance of exercise as it helps to decrease blood sugars. Sometimes my Fitbit challenges me to do more when I download it and it says 6550 steps. Well that pushes me to my elliptical bike for more of a workout. I love to see that I did what I need to do each day! Looking forward to no snow but season just began!

  • Everyone keeps telling me how good I look from before I got my fitbit and started increasing my activity level. This little wrist device has changed my life and the way I live it. I often tell people how and why my life has turned around with this tech devic.

  • Climbed Mt. Washington in NH last Saturday, 10/12/13, with my family. Unfortunately, the 6000+ steps and 4 hours of rough climbing was not recorded on my fitbit because I forgot to wear it!

If you haven’t been to New England in the Fall, it is spectacular. The trees are all turning color and it is very pretty there. The trail that we took was over boulders and was quite a hike but you can elect other less hazardous climbs.

Please feel free to let me know of places in the Northeast that you have frequented and are also a challenge.

  • FitBit, the Best ever customer service! Great product, even better customer service behind there products! Thank you Mynor G and the FitBit customer team. You Rock!

  • I love my fitbit 1. I have been wearing it for 370 so days. I have never missed a day !!
I have got my family and friends into the fitbit as well which makes it more fun to compete.
Love the customer service people they are the fastest I have ever dealt with!!! Yes I am totally obsessed with getting my steps in. I tell everyone !! 5 people have listen so far working on more. Lol.

  • Hi,
FitBit wins hands down on staying out of the way. I started with a Withings Pulse, but looked elsewhere because I was always fiddling with it: take it off for showering, put it in the wrist strap to sleep, take it out in the morning, remember to switch it to new clothes when I change.
I have some requests for your consideration: 1) The bracelet’s square edges and the rubber’s sticky-ness catch on long sleeves. It’s kind of a nuisance and with heavier material, the sleeve has put the FitBit into sleep mode. I’d like to see a smoother-edged, not-so-sticky strap. 2) I’d appreciate some way to get a battery state indication from the FitBit while it’s on my wrist. 3) a double-tap in sleep mode could be more informative. After the little “sleep light show,” it could display sleep duration so far. Maybe one light during the first 6 hours, then add another for each subsequent half hour. 4) Speaking about battery state. It’s displayed on the mobile app, but not on your web site. I’d like to see it there.
