Good News for Strava Athletes & Fitbit Lovers


You can now connect your Fitbit account to Strava!

Strava and Fitbit are excited to be partnering to make it even easier for our members to track all day activity, track exercise and maximize workouts. You can now connect your Fitbit account with Strava, which means your workouts logged in Fitbit will automatically sync to Strava, and your Strava workouts will sync to Fitbit!

You can use Strava for the times when you’re pushing hard cycling or running, and Fitbit for all-day health and fitness tracking and stats, for insights into your overall health.

If you’re a Fitbit Surge user, heart rate and GPS-based exercise data, including routes, distance, elevation and pace, will sync to Strava – whether you track a run or use our new biking feature! MobileRun users with any Fitbit device will also be able to view their GPS data in Strava.

You can find more ways to gauge progress and achieve your goals by tracking your workouts with Fitbit and using Strava’s performance analytics tools, while competing with a global community of athletes including professionals, friends, teammates and clubs for added daily motivation and inspiration.

App Update: View and Share Your Badges in the Fitbit App!


See all of your Fitbit badges right through the Fitbit app

Feeling nostalgic? Now you can see how far you’ve come on you’re fitness journey and get the boost you need to keep going by looking through your badges right in the Fitbit app!

View and share your badges right through the Fitbit app!Go to your Profile from the Account tab to see your top badges, or check out every badge you’ve earned by opening your Badge Collection. Then, tap on an individual badge to see when you earned it and read a detailed description about that achievement.

From there, on iOS devices you can share badges by texting them to friends or posting them to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Just tap “Share” at the bottom of the individual badge screen, and we’ll take it from there.

Now finding your friends on Fitbit is even easier! With the latest Fitbit app update, you can see which of your Facebook friends use Fitbit and add them to your Fitbit friend list right through the app.

If you’re looking to better understand your bike rides, the GPS tracking, PurePulse heart rate technology and advanced sensors in Surge now allow you to view your distance, duration, heart rate, average speed, and calories burned in real time, right on your wrist. Last October, we alerted the world that Fitbit Charge HR and Fitbit Surge were coming in early 2015. Today, we’re excited to announce that they’ve arrived just in time for your New Year’s resolutions! You can order either product at the Fitbit online store today, and both will be widely available in major North American retailers, including Best Buy, Brookstone, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Kohl’s, REI, The Sports Authority and Target, by the end of January. Availability in select countries in Europe, Asia, and Latin America will come shortly after.

If you’re a Fitbit Charge fan, we have good news for you too! You can now order the Charge in either blue or burgundy, to complement the already-available colors of black and slate.
